Honda Cars India launched their much awaited Honda Amaze in India yesterday (16th May) at a starting price tag of Rs 5.6 lakhs. In this article we compare the recently launched Amaze with TIGOR – yet another popular compact sedan in India.
2018 Honda Amaze vs Tata TIGOR – Price
The 2nd-Gen all new Honda Amaze starts its range with the base variant E trim(petrol) which is going to retail at a price of Rs 5.6 lakhs. The top of the line trim VX ( Diesel) is going to cost Rs 9 lakhs.

Tata TIGOR starts from 5 lakhs to 7.3 lakhs (Ex-showroom Bangalore).

Honda Amaze is made available both in petrol and diesel variants – both these variants are offered in manual as well as automatic transmission option. The 1.2 litre petrol engine offered by Honda Amaze produces 90 PS of power at 6000rpm and delivers a maximum torque of 110Nm @ 4800 rpm (Both for manual and CVT option). The 1.5 litre 4 Cylinder, DOHC i-DTEC diesel engine is capable to churn out a maximum power of 100bhp for manual transmission producing a peak torque of 200Nm whereas the automatic petrol variant of Amaze produces a maximum power of 80 bhp and 160Nm which is comparatively lesser than manual one.

Tata Tigor offers a mileage of 18 kmpl for Petrol and 22 Kmpl for Diesel variant. Tata also claims a mileage of 20Kmpl for AMT version of TIGOR.

Approximate Service Cost for Honda Amaze in 5 years is Rs. 50,508 for diesel variant and Rs.30,267 for petrol . It gets 3 free service, first service at 1000 km, second at 10000km , third at 20000km from then on there will be a service interval for every 10,000 km or every 6 months. Paid service will cost a average of 4.5k to 5.5k rupees .
