Popular Indian car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki very recently introduced a brand new version of its Swift hatchback series, and the new model is now open for bookings across the country.
The new model, tentatively termed the 2015 Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to incorporate a better engine than its predecessor, the current-generation Suzuki Swift, and according to an Indian Autos Blog report, the next-gen hatchback variant will be officially launched by the end of October.

As of now, details regarding the technical specifications of the yet-to-be-released Swift are yet to surface, but according to the Indian Autos Blog report, ‘prospective buyers’ of the new Swift can expect the following features:
- Car expected to come in both ZXi and ZDi petrol/diesel variants, and these models are said to feature Bluetooth, engine starter button and reverse parking sensors.
- VXi and VDi variants also expected to be released, and these are expected to provide 4-speaker music system units.
- Power-mirrors.
- Mechanism for adjusting driver seat.
The next-gen Swift variants are expected to provide comparatively increased mileage, by virtue of better power and torque output/performance within a ‘slightly improved’ and better-tuned engine.
Gauging the mileage of the current-gen Maruti Swift, we expect the new-gen Swift to provide mileage of 19 Kmpl (petrol) and 24 Kmpl (diesel).
Price of the new Swift is expected to lie between Rs 5-6 Lakhs.
