Altigreen, an electric vehicles OEM, has partnered with electric fleet startup MoEVing to launch its EVs in Delhi-NCR. Delivery of the state-of-the-art ‘NEEV’ 3-wheel EVs for MoEVing’s portfolio in Delhi-NCR has already commenced.
The two partners will work together to augment the adoption of EVs over traditional ICE vehicles in a bid to relieve the city’s stressed air quality. The Altigreen NEEV is an L5 Cargo vehicle that has been designed keeping the specific needs of Indian customers in mind.
Commenting on the partnership, Amitabh Saran, CEO, Altigreen Propulsion Labs said,
“There is growing demand for sustainable last-mile services in Delhi-NCR, owing to environmental concerns and increased operational costs of ICE vehicles. We believe that Altigreen NEEV provides an ideal, robust, long-term solution that is tailor-made for Indian road conditions. The partnership with MoEVing will help both the companies achieve their vision of deploying environment friendly mobility solutions in the region”.
Vikash Mishra, Founder and CEO of MoEVing said
“We are delighted to have Altigreen’s 3W as part of our supply portfolio. The high-performance vehicle builds customer confidence, eliminates driver range anxiety and the need for day charging. Altigreen’s NEEV product is the perfect example of it in India. At MoEVing, we have deployed multiple Altigreen NEEVs across Bangalore and Delhi NCR. We look forward to deploy more NEEV EVs across all our cities pan India.”
Altigreen’s NEEV, with its 11-kWh battery solution, can cover upto 125 Km with 550 Kg Payload in city traffic conditions. This is the highest in the Last Mile Transportation industry and breaks the distance barrier in large cities like New Delhi without dependence on any intermittent charging, thus allowing maximum utilization of the asset. With the NEEV, customers are freed from range anxiety and are not dependent on public charging infrastructure.”
Altigreen has already opened its office in New Delhi to give shape to its future plans in the market and launched a service network across various geographical areas in Delhi-NCR to support its customers.
It is to be noted that the capital has already exempted ‘electric carriers’ from its existing ban on plying & parking of LCVs in NCR during specified timings, under the Delhi EV Policy of 2019. The policy of 2020 further provides a purchase incentive of Rs 30,000 to the first ten thousand electric goods carriers registered in Delhi, in addition to interest subvention of 5 percent on loans availed from DFC. Altigreen’s push in Delhi amidst the supportive policy framework will work to lure more fleet operators to shift to green mobility.
When asked about how would the company define success, Altigreen’s spokesperson said:
Success is not defined by numbers . We are not driven by barriers. We had a dream to electrify and reduce carbon footprint by fuelling technology in the lowest strata of Commercial veh transportation. We feel proud to roll it out in the Capital of India and be the part of Delhi Govt vision to convert 25 percent of the vehicles into Electric in 2 years.
125 Km range with full payload in a single charge is highest achieved by any player in India. We are proud to bring it (Altigreen NEEV 3W) on the road. After all we were one of the first to get homologated our EV way back in Sep 20 and needed to keep that pace going.
