What’s the one thing that you do before buying a car? Test drive, yes! The quick, short drive behind the wheels of a car to test its performance. But when it comes to luxury cars, that may not be enough to get the whole experience of the car. And thus, BMW Navnit Motors brings to you a unique experience called the ‘Joy Drive’. Like the name suggests, it’s a super fun range drive event organised regularly for their potential customers.
We at GaadiKey recently interacted with BMW Navnit Motors, and we loved what we heard.

How is the Joy Drive different from a traditional test drive?
Test drives allow people to experience the car for a limited amount of time over a short distance. The Joy Drive is different because it lets you test drive multiple cars on a road trip with the family, giving the buyer a more realistic impression of how the car will feel in everyday life. Potential customers who want to own a BMW, but aren’t sure about which model to own, would benefit the most from the Joy Drive.
Tell us more about the Joy Drive experience.
We at Navnit Motors Bengaluru have been organizing various experiential drives such as the Range Drive, Corporate Drive, and Joy Drive, since the year 2016. We wanted our customers to experience a wide range of cars in the portfolio. Our recent Joy Drive fleet included the latest range of BMW cars such as the X1, 2 Series Gran Coupé, 3 Series Gran Limousine, and the 5 Series.
The day started off with participants being presented with our wide-range of car models side by side, with clear explanations on the unique features and differences of each model. After the presentation the participants experienced the sheer driving pleasure of the BMW cars on the road.
The Joy Drive provided a holistic experience over a long distance drive. The participants experienced varying road conditions like hilly terrains, city traffic, highways, etc. The participants had access to a dedicated sales consultant team throughout the journey to help them explore the car to its fullest potential.
The journey started with prospective customers starting early in the morning at the BMW Navnit Motors showroom located at Lavelle Road in Bangalore. The participants were briefed on the route map, the stops enroute, and the cars were flagged off. We drove through Airport Road, and stopped at Hotel GoldFinch for a delicious breakfast. The uniqueness of the trip was the fact that the entire family, including parents and kids, were present for the drive. They had multiple questions about the car features and shared their overall experience over conversations with other participants. Cars were periodically swapped between participants to provide the full BMW experience. Along the way, we explored the BMW Premium Selection (BMW’s largest used car facility in India), and the BMW service facility. Our farthest stop was Nandi Hills which is at the outskirts of the city, where sharper curves thrilled the drivers. Later in the day participants had lunch at Prestige Golfshire, where they were able to discuss their experiences with each other. In the evening we finally parted and made our way back home.
What did the participants take away from the Joy Drive experience?
After experiencing the cars under different traffic conditions, participants were able to make a more informed decision on their dream car. Most participants seemed to enjoy the Auto Hold feature, the space and comfort offered inside the car, and the joy of driving a BMW. The kids on board were excited to spend time with their family, and simultaneously explore the different features of the BMW cars such as the ever-lovable sunroof. At the end of the drive participants were provided with a small momento in appreciation of their time, with which they could cherish their memories of the BMW Joy Drive.
One customer in particular had almost planned to buy the BMW 2 Series. At the end of the Joy Drive, she appreciated that her preferences are better met with the BMW X1, which she bought soon after. The consulting team at Navnit Motors were present for the entire journey, allowing participants to interact with the consultants throughout the day.

In fact, we were amazed by the fact that many prospective customers started asking about the next Joy Drive just days after our previous one.
