Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Price Announced in India Starting at Rs 10.99 Lakh with BaaS

Maruti Suzuki has officially disrupted the Indian electric vehicle market with the price announcement of its first-ever electric SUV, the e-Vitara. Launched under the premium NEXA brand, the e-Vitara introduces a highly competitive Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model, making high-end electric mobility more accessible than ever.

Disruptive Pricing and the BaaS Model

The e-Vitara enters the market with an introductory BaaS price of Rs 10.99 Lakh. This innovative dual-loan finance product separates the vehicle cost from the battery cost, significantly lowering the upfront acquisition price for customers.

  • Introductory Price: Rs 10.99 Lakh (BaaS)
  • Battery EMI: Rs 3.99 per km
  • Booking Amount: Rs 21,000

This model is designed for the 49kWh variant, with calculations based on an average daily running of 60 km. By eliminating the upfront battery cost, Maruti Suzuki is positioning the e-Vitara to compete directly with mid-range ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) SUVs.

NEXA Edge: Unmatched Ownership Benefits

To bolster customer confidence in its first EV, Maruti Suzuki has bundled the e-Vitara with a comprehensive “NEXA Edge” package that covers everything from resale value to charging infrastructure.

1. 60% Assured Buyback

One of the biggest concerns for EV buyers—depreciation—is addressed with an assured buyback of 60% after 3 years. This guarantees a high resale value, making it a “future-proof” investment.

2. Comprehensive Warranty

  • Battery Warranty: 8 Years
  • Vehicle Warranty: 8 Years (3 standard + 5 years paid extended warranty)

3. Charging Ecosystem

Buyers receive a complimentary home charger and installation worth Rs 50,000. Additionally, Maruti is offering complimentary charging for 1 year across its growing reliable charging ecosystem.

Performance and Platform

The e-Vitara is built on the dedicated HEARTECT-e Platform, specifically engineered for electric drivetrains.

  • Battery Options: 49kWh and 61kWh
  • Claimed Range: Up to 543 km (for the 61kWh variant)
  • Drivetrain: Pure Electric with independent eAxles

The SUV features a modern, rugged design with tri-LED DRLs, 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels, and a tech-loaded interior featuring a dual-screen floating display and Level 2 ADAS safety features.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara FAQs

What is the starting price of the Maruti e-Vitara in India?

The introductory price starts at Rs 10.99 Lakh under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model.

How does the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) work?

BaaS allows you to buy the car at a lower upfront cost by excluding the battery price. You instead pay a “Battery EMI” based on your usage, which is priced at Rs 3.99 per km for the e-Vitara.

What is the range of the Maruti e-Vitara?

The e-Vitara offers two battery packs. The 49kWh variant offers a substantial city range, while the 61kWh variant provides an ARAI-certified range of up to 543 km on a single charge.

What are the charging benefits offered at launch?

Maruti Suzuki is providing a free home charger with installation (worth Rs 50,000) and one year of free charging at authorized stations.

Where can I book the e-Vitara?

Bookings are open at all NEXA showrooms and on the official NEXA website for an initial payment of Rs 21,000.
