Aprilia SR 150 – All you need to know
The Aprilia SR 150 made its debut in Auto Expo 2016 which was held in Delhi, India. The SR150 is an ambitious project by Aprilia, a company owned by Piaggio. What pleases Indians is the attractive price of a very sporty looking scooter. These little powerful scooters shall soon hit showrooms in India.
We list few things which you can expect from the very new Aprilia SR 150:
Powerful Engine
The 150cc engine for a scooter is pretty powerful. The Aprilia SR 150 is blessed with the 150cc engine which is expected to churn out around 12bhp of power. The peak torque which you can expect from this scooter is around 11.5Nm. The Aprilia SR 150 borrows the same engine of Piaggio’s Vespa SXL 150.
Design and Chassis
While the Vespa SXL gets a 10 inch alloy wheelers, the all new Aprilia SR 150 gets a much larger 14 inch alloy wheels. The wheels at both ends of the scooter sports a 120/70 size tyre and offers improved stability.
The Aprilia SR 150 scooter although features the similar 150cc engine, it is not the same as Vespa 150 SXL. While Vespa SXL comes with a distinctive steel monocoque body, the SR 150 gets a more conventional underbone scooter chassis. The SR 150 scooter features a telescopic fork arrangement in the front and a single offset monoshock at the rear.
Dealerships and Service Network
Already Piaggio has succeeded in attracting scooter lovers towards it by pricing this scooter very competitively. Also the production of SR150 is going on with full swing at its Baramati plant in India. The Aprilia SR 150 shall be made available by the end of August month(2016) across all the showrooms. The scooters will be sold across 100 plus Vespa dealerships and Aprilia showrooms across the country.
