Bajaj Auto has made an official announcement on one of its social media account ( X) that it is soon going to launch a CNG powered motorcycle in India. Bajaj is quite popular for its wide range of motorcycles which includes the Pulsar , Platina and Dominar range. Bajaj also has tried its hands on electric scooter business by launching its very own legendary Chetak scooter in the electric avatar. Operating as a separate entity, Chetak has got a good amount of traction through its flagship electric scooter.
The move to switch to an alternative fuel like CNG is interesting and may give Bajaj Auto a good head start. As per our knowledge, other than Bajaj Auto, there are no other OEM which is working on the development of CNG powered motorcycles and no one actively sells it either. Bajaj’s official announcement to launch CNG motorcycles have raised eyebrows among the Indian auto enthusiasts who have majorly adopted to petrol bikes and scooters. While the 3-wheeler and 4-wheeler market already uses CNG as a secondary fuel, it is quite new in the 2-wheeler space.
