Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India today announced its sales for the month of April 2022.
The first month of FY2022-23 saw HMSI’s total sales (domestic & exports) close at 361,027 units, with 318,732 two-wheeler sales in domestic market. On overseas exports business front, HMSI exported 42,295 units for the month.
Registering 33% YOY growth in domestic sales over last year (240,101 units in April’21), recovery for the month leveraged support from market relaxations, favourable harvesting period and gradual opening of schools, colleges among other factors.
Speaking on the performance for April’22, Mr. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Director – Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said,
“April marks the beginning of a positive period pillared by surge in market operations and the onset of marriage season. As per initial estimate, we anticipate a double-digit growth in Q1. However, moving forward, supply side issues and global economic scenario may continue to pose a challenge.”

Ø HMSI Future Roadmap for India: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India announced its Business Transformation Plan with a focus on overseas exports business expansion, alternative mobility and a broader Entry-Level Motorcycle portfolio.
Ø Honda Homecoming Fest 2022: Celebrating 1st anniversary of H’ness CB350 & CB350RS, HMSI organized a first-of-its-kind customer appreciation event at its Global Resource Factory, Manesar (Haryana) which received an overwhelming response from CB350 series owners’ community.
Ø Product: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter Indialaunched the 2022 Gold Wing Tour in India via completely built-up (CBU) route from Japan. The luxury tourer will be available in Dual-clutch transmission (DCT) option with Airbag.
Ø Honda BigWing Network Expansion: Honda’s premium business vertical, Honda BigWing further expanded its presence in the country with inauguration of new Honda BigWing (300-500cc) showrooms in Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh) &Ulhasnagar (Maharashtra) and BigWing Topline (300-1800cc) inKolkata (West Bengal).
Ø Road Safety: HMSI celebrated 7 glorious years of its Traffic Training Park in Hyderabad. Parallely, the company also kicked-off its road safety awareness drive in Chennai in association with the Tamil Nadu State Police educating nearly 1000 newly recruited sub-inspectors.
Ø Honda Motorsports: Repsol Honda riders Marc Marquez and Pol Esparagro fought their hardest with an aim to reach the top as Marquez finished at fourth position while Pol Espargaro collected the eleventh place in Round 6th of Circuito de Jerez in Spain. Whereas, Ai Ogura (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia Kalex) scored a magnificent first Grand Prix victory at Round 6 of 2022 Moto2.
