Mr Prashanth Doreswamy is the CEO and President of Continental India. The company is in the business line of automotive components, tyres, automotive software and other industrial solutions. In this interview Prashanth narrates the journey of Continental India, the products they build and manufacture, advanced technologies like ABS, ESC etc. Prashanth also covered topics like sustainability, how their manufacturing facility run on Green power and commitment to Zero Carbon footprint by 2050 across their value chain.
Continental Technical Centre in India, its impact on industry and society were discussed – From a mere 70 employees in 2008 to 5000 people in the year 2022 – the journey has been incredible. Continental India’s various CSR projects were discussed in depth. Trends in two wheeler and four wheeler technologies – India’s consumer preference in mobility and electrification were discussed.
Vision Zero – Road safety principle which Continental India follows – Zero accidents, Zero injuries, Zero Deaths were discussed. Prashanth admired Government of India’s initiatives in expediting and fast-forwarding adoptions to various safety features in personal vehicles like adherence to Airbags, ABS, ESC for the benefit of motorists in terms of safety. Mr Prashanth expressed that Continental India is a tier 1 company and is open to work with any companies regardless of its size when asked about collaboration opportunities with small and medium industries/startups in India. When quizzed about his favourite product which is closer to his heart, Prashanth responded that all products which is built with safety as fundamental are closer and he would say Yes.
