Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, one of the leading motorcycle manufacturers in India, organized all-women rides across the country to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 5th. The event was aimed at promoting women riders and spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene among women in underprivileged sections of society.
All-Women Rides Across Major Cities
The all-women rides were held in various cities, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Guwahati, Pune, and Chennai. Over 150 women riders donned their riding attire and rode their Jawa & Yezdi motorcycles through the main streets and localities of their respective cities. The rides were flagged off from Jawa Yezdi dealerships and led by popular rally driver Garima Avtar in Delhi.
Promoting Women Welfare Topics
The Jawa Yezdi Women Kommuniti, during the rides, conducted a session on menstrual hygiene for women residing in underprivileged areas of their respective cities. The riders distributed food packets and sanitary napkins to all women and young girls in the area. The rides also included stops for refreshments and sessions on social initiatives.
Encouraging Women Riders
Ashish Singh Joshi, CEO of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, expressed his happiness on seeing the growing number of women riders enjoying the feeling of motorcycling. He also stated that the company encourages more and more women to start riding and will continue to do so. The aim of the initiative is to generate awareness on various women welfare topics and support them by strengthening the Jawa Yezdi Kommuniti with female riders.
