Mahindra Racing, the only Indian team competing at World Championship level in motorsport, today unveiled the Mahindra M12Electro, its latest contender for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The new challenger was revealed at an exclusive event in central London, attended by Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of Mahindra & Mahindra.

The car features an eye-catching livery of metallic red, gloss white, and carbon black. The design incorporates 12 stripes—one for every year Mahindra has competed in the FIA’s all-electric series since inception—as well as the Indian flag, celebrating the team’s heritage.
The Evolution: Aiming for the Top 3
The M12Electro features the team’s latest developments, resulting from a summer dedicated to refining and improving the GEN3 Evo package. The Banbury-based team, under the leadership of CEO and Team Principal, Frederic Bertrand, transformed their fortunes on track last season.
- Season 11 Success: Mahindra achieved five memorable podium finishes in iconic destinations including Monaco, Jakarta, Berlin, and London.
- World Championship Standing: The team ultimately finished fourth in the World Championship standings, tripling its points tally from the season prior.
- Season 12 Ambition: The ambition for Season 12 is clear—to push on and break into the top three against one of the most competitive grids in world motorsport.
Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, expressed his delight: “I see a strong symbiotic relationship developing between Mahindra Racing, Tech Mahindra and Mahindra Auto in brand, technology, and experience.”. This is reflected in the Mahindra Group’s success, which reported a 66% year-on-year rise in EV sales last year.

Driver Consistency and Development
Consistency forms the bedrock of Mahindra Racing’s strategy. For the third consecutive season, the team will compete with the experienced driver pairing of Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara.
- Driver Experience: The pairing represents one of the most successful and experienced partnerships on the grid, with a combined 181 race starts, 10 wins, 22 podiums, and the Season Seven World Championship for de Vries.
- Reserve Driver: India’s talent, Kush Maini, also extends his relationship with the team for a third successive year, taking on increased support roles and driving during designated Rookie Test and practice sessions.
The new Formula E season begins in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Saturday, 6th December. The team will first participate in the official Formula E pre-season test at Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Valencia on October 27-31.
Valvoline Joins as Official Partner
Mahindra Racing also announced Valvoline Global Operations, a worldwide leader in premium lubricants and automotive solutions, as its new Official Partner ahead of Season 12.
- Shared Heritage: The partnership unites two brands with a shared history of excellence and innovation in motorsport, including Formula 1, IndyCar, and NASCAR.
Jamal Muashsher, President and CEO of Valvoline Global, noted that Formula E provides the “ultimate testing ground for innovation,” and that together with Mahindra, they are “proving that performance and sustainability can go hand in hand.”.
