Mahindra has revealed the five door version of the Thar 5-door and as you know it is called the Thar Roxx. The Thar Roxx is the third premium SUV above the 4 metre space along with the XUV700 and the Scorpio N.
Dimensions and specs
The Thar Roxx measures in 4428mm length, 1870mmin width and 1923height. The SUV comes in seven colours too. New to the Roxx is the longer five door form and the longer wheelbase. It is however based on a modified Scorpio N platform while also getting various features like the FDD suspension too.
The Thar Roxx comes with a 2.2l diesel engine and the entry level versions comes with a power output of 173bhp and 370Nm torque plus 152bhp and 330Nm. The top-end Thar Roxx has a 6-speed automatic too while a 6-speed manual is standard.
There is a petrol Roxx with a 2.0 litre turbo petrol with 162/175bhp and 330/380Nm torque. The gearbox options include a 6-speed automatic and a manual. The diesel gets 4×4 as an option and RWD 4×2 is standard.
Features
The Thar Roxx has a new interior over the Thar 3-door with dual 10.25 inch screens including a new instrument cluster which is digital and a new 10.25-inch touchscreen.
Other features include a panoramic sunroof for the first time on a Thar, a 360 degree camera, a blind view monitor, a powered handbrake, connected car technology, LED headlights, 19 inch alloy wheels, 6 airbags, rear armrest, ventilated seats, 6 way electrically adjustable driver seat and ac vents plus Level 2 ADAS features too. Other highlights include a 9 speaker Harman Kardon music system, wireless Android Auto and Apple Car play, push button start stop, front ventilated seats and more.
Design
The Thar Roxx has a new look design with a colour coded grille and which has a new slot design plus 19-inch alloy wheels. The extra doors at the rear have the door handle at the C-Pillar. The rear meanwhile has the spare wheel like on the 3-door Thar.
Prices
The Thar Roxx starts from 12.99 lakh and the top-end manual is Rs 18.99 lakh. The variant lineup includes MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L, AX7L. Bookings start from October 3.
