Mercedes-Benz GLS revealed
Popular luxury car-maker, Mercedes-Benz has showcased its new premium SUV – GLS in Europe. The GLS is the GL with a new nomenclature and comes with a very minor facelift. Mercedes-Benz has positioned the 7-seater SUV as the ‘S-Class among SUVs’.
When it comes to interiors, Mercedes Benz GLS boasts ample spaciousness and combines luxury with impressive levels of comfort, agile dynamics and the best-in-class safety. When compared to the older version of the car, the new generation features offers improved efficiency, extended Dynamic Select transmission modes, the latest stage of development of the air suspension system AIRMATIC with enhanced damping system ADS, the nine-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, state-of-the-art assistance systems and the latest telematics generation with internet access.
The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4MATIC will also be offered. This car offers a peak output of 585 bhp, independent suspension and the revised AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission, it represents the pinnacle of the GLS model series. The features which come as standard on-board include the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes, which provide optimum flexibility, and the rear-biased AMG Performance all-wheel drive. Mercedes Benz GLS 63 4MATIC also shows strength of character with its updated design featuring the AMG brand look and high-quality interior.
Mercedes Benz GLS Dimensions and Features
The all new GLS from Mercedes-Benz measures 5130mm in length, 1934mm in width and 1850mm in height. The wheelbase of the car measures 3075mm. Mercedes Benz GLS gets a new re-worked exterior & revised interiors. Talking about the exteriors of the car, there is a new front end. At the rear of the car, the bumper and tail lights have been restyled. The interiors of new GLS includes the newly designed instrument panel with semi-integrated Media Display, 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, modified centre console with touchpad and also the new colours and trim elements.
The deliveries of The Mercedes-Benz GLS deliveries shall begin starting from March 2016 in Europe and it will make its way into India during late 2016.
