New Toyota Platinum Etios and Etios Liva Upgrade
Toyota Etios and the Etios Liva were launched in India in 2010 and they have just got a good update. We can see changes with the looks along with enhancements in the interiors, features and the safety segment. New Toyota Platinum Etios Design and interiors
On the front side, the cars get a redesigned front grille. Its got new bumpers with chrome garnishes which looks different to the present models. The upper lip of the grille gets chrome plates, the fog lamps are housed neatly and even the fog lamp cover is new. The cars also get new alloy wheels and the rear bumper is slightly redesigned with the chrome strip and reflectors for better night visibility.
Interiors is where the new Platimun versions excel. It gets dual tone interiors to give it a premium feel. Th ivory extends to the seats as well. The rear passenger seat gets an arm rest for better comfort. The Etios platinum has best in class cabin space and when there are no passengers at the back, you could fold the rear seats as well. Platinum Etios gets the new ‘Optitron Combimeter’ that includes a digital tachometer and an analog speedometer with graphic illumination; visible at all times, both with the head lamps switched on or off. The interiors look rich and feel as good as a premium car.
New Platinum Etios Features
Toyota has loaded the platimun Etios with features. It gets optional reverse parking sensors, electrically foldable ORVMs that allow for smoother navigation through tight corners and narrow lanes, along with AC with multidirectional vents that offer effective cooling through a 360 degrees rotating function. It also gets height adjustable driver seats, steering mounted controls a cooled glove box to keep the beverage cooler than the cabin temperature. Etios Platinum gets an impressive 592 litres of boot space which is the best in class number and Toyota has done a great job with this.
New Platinum Etios Engine
The Platinum Etios comes with two engine options, a 1.5-liter petrol engine giving 88 bhp of power and 132 Nm of torque, along with a 1.4-liter diesel engine which gives 67 hhp and 170 Nm torque. Both engines are mated to a five speed manual transmission. The petrol is expected to give a mileage of 16.78 kmpl (ARAI certified) and the diesel giving a mileage of 23.89 kmpl (ARAI certified).
New Platinum Etios Safety
Etios was already one of the safest cars in its segment scoring a 4 stars out of 5 GNCAP safety rating. Toyota Etios also bagged the number one position in the Most Dependable Car in the Entry Mid-Size Segment according to J.D. Power Asia Pacific’s 2015 India vehicle dependability study.
Toyota Etios Platinum gets Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), dual front airbags for driver and passenger are also offered as standard on the Brand New Toyota Platinum Etios.
All three rear seats have a removable headrest designed to improve comfort and reduce injury in case of a collision, the new central locking system is placed on the instrument panel which is used for faster recovery in case of emergencies. It also gets keyless entry, an engine mobilizer, front seat belts with pretensioners & force limiters, a child restraint system with two ISOFIX mounts. These features makes it really hard for people to ignore the new Toyota Etios Platinum.
