Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) today announced wholesale 94,219 units for FY 2022-23, YTD growth of 23%, domestic wholesale of 33611 units and exports of 60608 units. For the month of March’23, wholesale was 10,519 units, growth of 73% for the month, domestic wholesale of 3260 units and exports of 7259 units. Last year, March’22 domestic sales was 3007 units, exports of 4976 units and overall wholesale growth of 31% for the month.
The Nissan Magnite since its launch has been a game changer in its segment and the “Make in India, Make for the World” SUV has led Nissan’s success story in India garnering over 1 lakh customer bookings in both domestic and export markets. It has proven to be the preferred choice in B-SUV segment, designed in Japan and manufactured in India for domestic and export markets. The ‘Big, Bold, and Beautiful’ Nissan Magnite has been the recipient of several prestigious awards since its launch, including the recent ICONIC Brand of the year by Dainik Jagran INext ICONIC Awards 2023.

Nissan recently showcased 3 premium SUVs from its global portfolio in India, of which some are currently undergoing local suitability tests over multiple terrains for their launch, with the X-Trail intended to be the first model to be launched.”
To offer an experience of its Global products, Nissan Motor India recently organized the “Move Beyond Golf tournament” in Noida, Chennai, and Kolkata, showcasing their premium SUVs like the X-Trail and the Qashqai. The event aimed to bring the Nissan brand experience closer to premium customers in India, catering to the diverse tastes of the country.
In FY 2022-23, Nissan crossed the milestone of 1 million export units on the philosophy of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’. The Nissan Magnite was the millionth vehicle exported, currently being exported to 15 global markets, recent most launches have been in Seychelles, Bangladesh, Uganda and Brunei. Nissan Motor India commenced exports in September 2010 and currently exports vehicles from its Renault-Nissan Automotive India Ltd., Manufacturing plant in Chennai to 108 destinations including New Zealand, Australia, and countries in the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, South-East Asia, SAARC, Sub Sahara, and African regions. Furthermore, Nissan Motors India was recently honored by the Chennai Office of the Chief Commissioner of Customs for Outstanding Contribution to Exports from India in FY 2022-23, the award underlines Nissan India’s robust commitment to ‘Make in India, Make for the World’.
Ahead of the BS6 Stage 2 emission norms kicking in on April 1, 2023, Nissan has introduced a BS6 Stage 2 RDE-compliant version of Magnite this month. The 2023 Nissan Magnite is now equipped with best-in-class new safety features as standard across all variants with a GNCAP 4.0 rating.
India FY 2023-24 Outlook:
Nissan Motor India has outlined robust plans as it begins its transition to the next phase in India with an investment plan of USD 600 mn / ₹5300 crore outlined recently by its Global COO Ashwani Gupta. Nissan will be introducing three new models, including two C segment SUVs and one A-SUV in the EV space. The company also stated that the KICKS had reached the natural end of its lifecycle at their plant in Chennai, India, and that the company is working on adjusting its product line-up to best meet the Indian customer’s evolving needs. As the company brings the KICKS’ production to a close, it assures all existing owners that customer satisfaction remains our top priority and the company will continue providing the highest levels of aftersales and parts and warranty support from Nissan’s nationwide dealer network.
