Ola Electric Hits 1 Million Milestone, Launches Special Edition Roadster X+ and New S1 Pro Sport

In a landmark achievement for the Indian electric vehicle (EV) industry, Ola Electric, India’s largest pure-play EV company, has rolled out its one-millionth vehicle from its state-of-the-art Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. This milestone marks the first time a pure-play EV company in India has reached a million units in production. The company has achieved this feat in under four years, after beginning production in 2021. The accomplishment is largely driven by strong demand for its popular S1 portfolio of electric scooters, as well as the recently launched Roadster X electric motorcycles.

An Ola Electric spokesperson highlighted the significance of the achievement, stating, “This marks the celebration of every Indian who trusted us and believed in our mission. In four years, we’ve gone from an idea to becoming India’s EV two-wheeler leader. We built at scale and proved that world-class products can be designed, engineered, and manufactured right here in India.” The spokesperson also reiterated the company’s clear mission to “End ICE Age and make India the global EV hub”.

A Striking New Roadster X+ Commemorates the Milestone

To commemorate the historic occasion, Ola Electric unveiled a special edition Roadster X+. The special edition motorcycle comes in a striking midnight blue with sporty red accents on the dual-tone seat, rims, and battery pack. In a nod to sustainability, the new edition features badges crafted from recycled copper waste and has electroplated bar ends, reflecting Ola’s design philosophy of building recyclability into its products. The Roadster X+ has a top speed of 125 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.7 seconds. It is available with two battery options: a 4.5 kWh pack with a claimed range of 252 km or a larger 9.1 kWh pack that offers a range of up to 501 km. Deliveries for the Roadster X+ are set to begin during the festive season of Navratri.

New Product Announcements and Bharat Cell Integration

The milestone comes on the heels of the company’s annual ‘Sankalp’ event, where it made several key announcements. Ola announced the integration of its indigenous 4680 Bharat Cell into its integrated vehicles. The updated S1 Pro+ with a 5.2 kWh battery and the Roadster X+ with a 9.1 kWh battery will both feature the new cell, with introductory prices of ₹1,69,999 and ₹1,89,999 respectively.

The event also marked Ola’s entry into the sports scooter category with the all-new S1 Pro Sport. The S1 Pro Sport is also powered by the 4680 Bharat Cell and is available with a 5.2 kWh or a 4 kWh battery pack. Starting at an introductory price of ₹1,49,999, deliveries for the S1 Pro Sport are scheduled to begin in January 2026. The S1 Pro Sport is positioned as a high-performance scooter with a top speed of up to 141 km/h and a claimed range of 320 km for the 5.2 kWh variant.

Ola Electric’s Vertical Integration and Global Ambition

Ola Electric’s success is rooted in its strategy of vertical integration of technology and manufacturing for EVs and their components, including battery cells. The Ola Futurefactory is being developed as India’s most significant EV hub. This effort is supported by Ola’s Bengaluru-based Battery Innovation Centre (BIC), which is dedicated to advancing cell and battery technology. Ola’s R&D efforts span India, the UK, and the US, focusing on innovative EV products and core components.

The company also maintains a robust direct-to-customer distribution network with more than 4,000 stores across India and a strong online presence. This makes Ola Electric the largest company-owned network of automotive experience centers in the country, ensuring a seamless experience for customers.
