Much anticipated SUV from Tata Motors , the upcoming H5X-based compact SUV was spotted testing near Pune . From the pictures clicked by CarDekho , Exterior looks very much like the concept which was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo . Tata has retained the striking-looking headlamps and wrap around taillights and also features large wheel arches, chunky bumpers, skid plates and LED graphics.
This SUV from Tata is expected to be launched by April 2019, hence we can expect Tata to unveil its production-spec version by the end 2018. Tata Motors promised that the production version will retain 80 % of the flashy H5X concept’s design (The Impact 2.0 design philosophy), just like it did with the Nexon. Apart from the H5X’s sloping roofline , Tata has managed to keep up thier promise by keeping SUV that was spotted testing pretty much identical to the show car.

The H5X’s sloping roofline and tiny glass section at the rear are replaced by a relatively straighter and much larger rear windshield , this is done so that the visibility to the back is not hampered. However , Tata has retained the deep cut under the slim taillights and the protruding metalwork underneath ,this gives the SUV a wider stance . The test car suggest the production version of the H5X will replace the gigantic 22-inch wheels with a simple yet classy-looking five-spoke alloy wheels (probably 18-inch units).
The H5X is based on Tata’s new OMEGA (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced) architecture, which is developed from Land Rover’s D8 architecture that underpins the Discovery Sport. All future Tata cars that measure over 4.5m in length will be based on OMEGA architecture . H5X looks larger than its rivals such as the Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass . Tata will price it in the range of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 18 lakh when launched in April 2019 .
