Tata Motors has now introduced Apple CarPlay functionality to the Nexon’s infotainment system. Since its launch in September last year, the 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the higher variants of the Nexon (XZ and XZ+) was only available with Android Auto connectivity.
Apple CarPlay allows seamless integration of one’s Apple iPhone to the car’s infotainment system to provide various functions, including calls, music playback and voice commands.
While new buyers of the Nexon will get Apple CarPlay functionality pre-installed in their vehicles, the existing owners won’t get this for now. This update has put the Nexon on par with its rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport.
Recently The TATA Nexon, which is sold in its standard version with frontal double airbags, frontal double pretensioners, ABS brakes and ISOFIX anchorages, achieved a strong result of four stars for adult occupant protection and three stars for child occupant protection.
