Volkswagen Ameo Diesel Spotted Testing
Popular car manufacturer Volkswagen has been spotted testing a new diesel variant of its popular Ameo car. Ameo with the “Made for India” fame has managed well enough to put good sales number on board for the July month. The spotted Ameo car was powered by 1.5 litre Diesel engine.
Volkswagen Ameo has been designed specifically keeping the Indian auto enthusiasts in mind who look for mid-sized compact sedan cars like Xcent, Dzire. Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki owns a lion’s share in the mid-sized compact sedan market.
Currently, Volkswagen Ameo Petrol version is launched in India which is offered in 3 different variants: Trendline, Comfortline and Highline.
The new diesel engine of Volkswagen Ameo gets an upgraded turbocharger that helps in increasing the fuel efficiency and power delivery figures. Ameo Diesel is expected to deliver 90PS of power, 230Nm of torque and could deliver a mileage of upto 20 Kmpl. The diesel vesion of Ameo would be offered with the same 5-speed manual and 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmissions as you see in the Polo and Polo GT TSi.
The visual aesthetics as seen on the photo captured appear to be similar to top-spec Ameo petrol version. The only difference one could spot is the presence of alloy wheels.
Expect Ameo Diesel by the end of this month or early next month. The price of Ameo will be 1 lakh costlier than the petrol version.
