The BS6 emission norms will be implemented in India from April 1st, 2020. In line of such announcement, Yamaha Motor India Group has introduced its BS6 range of two wheelers well before the mandated timeline.
The company introduced its first line up of BS VI compliant engines with the rollout of its all new FZ-FI (149 cc) and FZS-FI (149 cc) in the month of November 2019. In the consecutive month, Yamaha introduced BS VI compliant YZF-R15 Version 3.0 (155 cc) and it’s all new MT-15 (155 cc).
During the same month (December 2019), the company also launched its all-new 125 cc FI scooters, the Fascino 125 FI, Ray ZR 125 FI and Street Rally 125 FI with new features and new engine technologies.
The company also unveiled the BS VI FZ-25 (249 cc) and the all new FZS-25 (249 cc) in the month of February 2020. The BS VI FZ-25 models will be available from April 2020 and the all new FZS-25 models will be available later this year.
For 2020, Yamaha will focus on 125 cc scooters and premium segment motorcycles. The new Fascino 125 FI is already available in dealerships since January 2020, while the Ray-ZR 125 FI and BS VI MT-15 are also made available in showrooms from February 2020.
