Mercedes-Benz is launching the new E-Class soon in India and this is the new generation while there are plenty of updates. The new E-Class would be available with E200 petrol and E220d diesel but now there is a new mild hybrid 48v technology being added. Mercedes-Benz has revised the suspension and the gearbox which is standard is a 9-speed automatic. In terms of styling, there is a new Avantgarde styling package with a star pattern which is new to the grille.
There are new headlamps too plus 3D star tail-lamps along with flush door handles. The E-Class also now gets 18-inch alloy wheels with a new design plus length wise there is an extension by 14mm. Inside, the wheelbase has now been enlarged by 15mm while the design now has three screens. Called Superscreen, there is a passenger touchscreen at 12.3-inch and a larger 14.4-inch main centre touchscreen. There are new digital vents controlled electrically plus most of the functions are now handled by the touchscreen.
New to the E-Class is the selfie camera used for Zoom meetings and more. More apps have been added with the latest MBUX suite of features. Panoramic sunroof is controlled by voice and there is an inbuilt AI system as well for increased customisation. The rear seats now have greater adjustability plus cushions along with an electric seat base extension. Buyers also have a wireless charging pad and electrically operated sunblinds plus the Chauffeur package.
Music lovers will like the new 4D Burmester Audio system with speakers in the headrests. Other functions include 4-zone climate control, soft close doors and an electric boot release. The new E-Class will cost between Rs 80-83 lakhs. Stay tuned for our review of the new E-Class.
