The Renault Captur For India is based on the Renault Duster’s B-Zero platform. The SUV is priced and positioned above the Duster and was launched at a starting price of Rs. 9.99 lakhs, ex-showroom. The engines and gearboxes are borrowed from Duster and are not yet available with automatic transmission options. Renault Captur features full-time front-wheel drive, Unlike Duster’s all-wheel-drive option.
The Captur comes with both petrol and diesel options. The petrol motor is powered by a 1.6-litre engine which is capable of 106 hp-140 Nm paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel Captur uses a 1.5-litre K9K turbocharged unit turning out 108 hp-248 Nm mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox is standard. The Captur’s biggest selling point is its carpet-like ride quality with its wonderful suspension set-up that offers excellent ride comfort.
