Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming Ignis to get Harman Infotainment system
Harman which is the audio and infotainment company, has now bagged Suzuki Motor Corporation’s contract to supply infotainment units for its upcoming Ignis reports AutoCarIndia .
The new Maruti Suzuki Ignis system boasts a special HMI (Human Machine Interface) that comes with easy smartphone integration and navigation as well. In addition to this, the Ignis system adds support to Apple CarPlay. There is also going to be voice-recognition function feature. Currently in India, Maruti uses a different infotainment system which is dubbed as SmartPlay that comes with most of the above mentioned functions.
In the month of February, Maruti Suzuki showcased the Ignis at the 2016 Auto Expo and has also made an announcement that the model will be launched in India this year around the festive season. However, it is still uncertain to us if the Ignis in India will carry on with the existing Smartplay system or feature the latest Harman system.
About Maruti Ignis
This upcoming compact SUV from Maruti Suzuki is going to be powered by a 1.0 litre BoosterJet engine and it should also be getting the 1.2-litre K-Series DualJet engine. Ignis will be yet another compact SUV from Maruti Suzuki. Currently, Maruti Suzuki is doing extremely well in terms of sales of Maruti Vitara Brezza. The all new Ignis is expected to get launched in India towards the end of the year 2016 ( Close to Indian festive season). The Ignis was showcased in the Auto Expo 2016 event that happened in Delhi of India.
