Mr Kim will get responsibilities of MD & CEO from Mr Koo of Hyundai India

Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s second largest car manufacturer and number one exporter since inception announced the top level management changes with immediate effect. Mr. Seon Seob Kim will assume the responsibilities of ‘MD & CEO’ from Mr. Young Key Koo who is set to return to Hyundai Motor Company Head Quarters, Seoul after 3 years in India.

Hyundai completes 20 years of operations in India

Mr. Y K Koo completed 3 years’ successful tenure to lead Indian operations and under his able Visionary Thought Leadership, Hyundai Motor India has achieved many new milestones.

Out of his 35 years of professional career with Hyundai Motor Company, Mr. Y K Koo had been the part of the Senior Management for long 12 Years in India with a strong understanding and orientation of Indian Auto Industry. In his first stint from 1997-2001, Hyundai established itself as a household name with the launch of 1st generation ‘SANTRO’ and ‘ACCENT’ while he strengthened the sales and marketing operations during his second tenure from 2008-2011 and again headed the Indian operations in his 3rd tenure from November 2015 to November 2018.

Mr. Koo strengthened the India operations with focus on efficiency and smart manufacturing practices leading to the roll-out of 8-Millionth Car in 20 years 9 months – fastest-ever in the Indian auto industry. During his tenure – our commitment towards strong service was strengthened with Hyundai Motor India ranking No.1 in JD Power CSI survey consecutively in 2017 and 2018.

To strengthen Hyundai’s commitment towards society, Mr. Koo also initiated several Corporate Social Responsibility Activities like Safe Move – Road Safety Campaign and Swachh Can – Clean India Campaign benefiting the people from Urban to Rural areas.

With a strong outlook towards Product and Sales, Mr. Y K Koo devised strategic long term road map for Hyundai Motor India setting strong foundation for future. HMIL has achieved year on year the record domestic sales in 2016, 2017 & 2018 along with 8 Successful Products launches like All New ELANTRA & VERNA, All New TUCSON, 2017 GRAND i10, 2017 All New XCENT, New 2018 ELITE i20, New 2018 CRETA and what is more the comeback of the Legend – India’s Favorite Family Car – the All New SANTRO with over 41,000 bookings within 40 days. To celebrate 20 years of journey, Hyundai Motor India launched the India’s most innovative and emotional campaign – Brilliant Moments in 2018 garnering 500 Million views within 4 months.

Hyundai Motor India will continue its journey towards achieving newer milestones in future to create brilliant moments in the customers’ life and always be their lifetime partner in automobile and beyond.

    I Purchased New Grand i10 diesel in OCtober 2017. Within twice years engine got sieze twice.
    I have a medical emergency my New born baby is in ICU struggling for his life.

    My car is in car workshop for more than 20 days.and they are saying it will take more 15-20 days.
    I tried to contact HYundai CRservice no body is updating the ticket and even disconnecting the call. Multiple times I called.
    Very much dissatisfied with Hyundai. I will not recomend any one to go for Hyundai Motors..
