With KWID, Renault wanted to provide Indian consumers with a compact hatchback that would set new paradigms in accessible mobility, while catering to evolving customer expectations. This was enabled by launching a car with breathtaking design, styling and an unmatched value proposition. KWID offered a host of equipment and features, which redefined the segment. These include the 7-inch touchscreen Media NAV system, digital Instrument cluster, one-touch lane change indicator, speed dependent volume control and pro-sense seat belt pretensioners with load limiters and boot capacity of 300 liters.

Post the successful launch of the KWID 0.8L and after making inroads across the country, Renault launched the powerful KWID with a 1.0L powertrain including an AMT transmission and the stylish and funky KWID Climber in quick successions to suit the customers’ specific lifestyles. This was in line with Renault India’s strategy to cater to the evolving needs and preferences of India customers, its long-term commitment to the Indian market, and to have a strong product life cycle for KWID. Renault KWID became synonymous with the ‘Make in India’ story, and also bagged 32 automobile awards, including 10 ‘Car of the Year’ awards.
NEW RENAULT KWID RANGE: SAFETY ENHANCED
Renault India enhanced the safety features of KWID and the new KWID complied with advanced safety regulations, including pedestrian safety, which was done ahead of regulation timelines without any incremental price to the customers. The new KWID Range gets several active and passive safety features including Anti-Lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (ABS with EBD), Driver airbag and Driver & Co Driver Seat belt reminder, speed alert, standard across all variants. Renault has added more practical features to the KWID like the Rear-view camera assist through sound warning and colour guidelines which is standard across all variants. KWID Climber gets an additional Rear Arm rest for additional comfort and convenience. In addition, the AMT variants of the new Renault KWID Range comes equipped with the essential Traffic assist which helps the vehicle to crawl forward in slow moving traffic and also prevents it from rolling back on slopes.

Powering the Renault KWID range are the 0.8 litre and 1.0 litre SCe (Smart Control Efficiency) engines which are optimally designed for an exhilarating performance and best-in-class fuel efficiency. The 4 valves per cylinder of the Double Over Head Camshaft (DOHC) layout ensures low pressure drop and super-efficient valve lift for a higher air filling; thus, allowing the engines to make usable power at low end, mid-range and high-end rev bands. These high technology engines offer excellent drivability, be it slick city streets or on the highway.
CONVENIENT & INNOVATIVE EASY- R AMT WITH SHIFT CONTROL DIAL
KWID’s innovative Easy-R Gear Box is a 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), enabling a clutch free driving experience that combines the fuel economy and performance of a manual transmission with the convenience of automated gear shifting. The Innovative Shift Control Dial with three modes Reverse – Neutral – Drive has been smartly designed for ease of use. The Easy-R gearbox can be operated with a shift control dial that is positioned below the infotainment system on the centre console. The vehicle has an advanced throttle control unit that monitors the throttle input by optimising acceleration and gear shifting.
