Quick Ride, India’s leading car and bike-pooling application, today announced a partnership with Candor TechSpace IT/ITES office space providers to facilitate carpooling services across five campuses in Gurugram, Noida and Kolkata. The partnership will allow approximately 100,000 employees across Candor TechSpace campuses to share vehicles with their colleagues or hitch a ride every day. The development is aimed at driving a significant reduction in traffic congestion, the cost of commute for employees, and carbon footprint thus enabling lowered levels of air pollution.

Candor TechSpace assets managed by Brookfield properties, houses more than 20,000 employees in each of its campuses, with a majority using private vehicles or cab services for their daily commute. Through the strategic tie-up, Candor TechSpace & Quick Ride are trying to create awareness about the benefits of carpooling and how it can help to significantly mitigate vehicular congestion and increasing pollution levels. The development will also give professionals working in Candor TechSpace campuses-an opportunity to interact with each other on their way to/from the office, thus strengthening employee relations and organisational work culture.

Emphasizing on Quick Ride’s aim to reduce vehicular congestion and pollution, KNM Rao, Co-founder and CEO – Quick Ride said,

We are pleased to collaborate with Candor TechSpace to further move our mission forward to reduce 1 Million vehicles on road by 2020 across India. This partnership will ensure convenient and cost-effective commute for employees, while also enabling more efficient utilisation of the parking spaces at Candor TechSpace campuses. Moreover, it will help car owners offering rides to save up to INR 12,000 per month.

In the past we have successfully collaborated with the country’s second largest tech park – Manyata in Bangalore to promote carpooling amongst their employees. Moreover, the tech park organized a ‘Green Mela’ to honour employees who have been carpooling and bike pooling to work. Dozens of car-poolers were recognized as ‘green riders’ for their efforts. Our partnership with Candor Tech Space reaffirms our commitment towards sustainable mobility and we hope we can all work together as a community to decongest our roads for a cleaner, greener city.” He added.

Candor TechSpace Spokesperson: Shantanu Chakraborty – Senior Vice President, Brookfield Properties said,

We are looking forward to our collaboration with Quick Ride. It offers an innovative solution to combat traffic congestion and air pollution. At the same time, tech parks across the country are facing a severe parking crunch, which will considerably ease out if employees start car-pooling to office every day. As responsible corporate citizens, it is our duty to work towards a cleaner and greener environment, this partnership with Quick Ride is a small step towards the same. This strategic tie-up with Quick Ride will encourage professionals at our campuses to adopt carpooling as an everyday practice.

Other progressive steps to promote sustainable mobility include our collaboration with Shuttl and Lithium to install EV charging infrastructure across our campuses. This partnership with Quick Rideis another step towards our commitment of providing a safe and healthy work environment both inside and outside their offices

he added.

Currently, most Indian cities are grappling with the burning issue of vehicular congestion which not only adds to air pollution but also reduces productivity. According to a report by The Boston Consulting Group, congestion costs in four of the largest cities in India – namely Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata – were estimated to be around USD 22 billion per year, with Kolkata topping the list as the country’s most congested city out of the four.

Through this partnership, Quick Ride aims at building a community of conscientious corporate citizens who are willing to contribute towards decongestion and reducing air pollution.
