With the new BS6 era coming up next April (2020), TVS Motor Company, like all other automakers has started rationalising BS4 variants to make sure a fast transition from BS4 to BS6 is smoother for the end customer.
Five months ahead of the deadline set by Government of India, TVS is going to release BS6 Two-Wheelers this Month(November 2019). During the final quarter of this financial year, TVS dealer partners will only get BS6 compliant vehicles.
TVS has already completed testing BS6 scooters. You can expect some minor upgrades for TVS Wego scooter. The BS6 variant of TVS Ntorq is also expected.
If you are a frequent GaadiKey reader, you probably know that TVS products are well known for getting regular updates. Such motorcycles like RTR 200 and Apache RR 310 may only get mechanical upgrades.
In the modern BS6 era, just like all other manufacturers, we presume the tweaked engines to make a relatively reduced quantity of power. While this is negligible in the case of engines which make 20 hp+, for small capacity engines which dish out between 12– 15 hp, a decrease of 1.5 hp – 2 hp makes a quite huge difference. We’ll get to know more when manufacturers initiate to roll out their upgraded BS6 product lines in coming weeks.
TVS might not be attending the 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi during next year. TVS is well-known for showcasing several of the most popular show-stealers till date, and our guess is that the supplier will first launch its updated BS6 range first and after that divert its attention towards new products.
