Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts (TKAP) Announces Leadership change

Currently serving as Senior Vice President, Mr. Prasad will take charge from Mr. K G Mohan Kumar after his appointment by the Board of Directors in their meeting to be held in January 2022.

Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts Pvt Ltd (TKAP) today announced the proposed appointment of Mr. K N Prasad as Managing Director. Currently serving as Senior Vice President, Mr. Prasad will take charge from Mr. K G Mohan Kumar after his appointment by the Board of Directors in their meeting to be held in January 2022.

Mr. Prasad will be responsible for strategic direction of TKAP’s operations in India. He brings with him rich experience in diverse areas covering Production, Engineering and Quality. His in-dept sector knowledge and deep understanding of the evolving industry scenario is expected to further contribute to overall growth of the company at this critical juncture.

Commenting on the leadership change, Mr. K G Mohan Kumar, Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts, said,

“I am grateful for the support and co-operation extended to me during the tenure at TKAP by our employees, customers, share-holders and supplier partners. We took large strides to achieve global competitiveness through our focus on continuous improvement, localization, people development and environmentally sustainable manufacturing operations. The automotive industry is in a disruptive phase that necessitates change in product and process technologies.  I am delighted to welcome Mr. Prasad to drive this transition at TKAP and wish him the very best for the future.”

Having joined TKAP in 1998, Mr. K G Mohan Kumar was responsible for localization of parts, equipment, and developing engineering talent for all product lines of the company. One of the key achievements during his tenure was to showcase Indian suppliers’ competitiveness and manufacturing capabilities thus enhancing export opportunities. He made significant contribution to customer relations initiatives and cost management across the organization.

Speaking on his nomination as Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts – Mr. K N Prasad, said

“I am extremely excited to shoulder this opportunity and lead TKAP. I am eagerly looking to take forward Toyota’s core values, build competitiveness and contribute towards company’s growth along with business sustainability. Customers and employees are at the heart of everything we do at Toyota, and we will enhance our efforts to enrich the lives of our people and giveback to society and communities around us.”

Mr. K N Prasad comes with a total of 33 years of experience and over 20 years of experience at TKAP.
