Introduction

Guerrilla 450, an interesting name for a motorcycle, isn’t it? After a long gap, Royal Enfield managed to send us this 452cc growling animal for the review in Bangalore. Guerrilla which is powered by Sherpa 450 engine brought back the memories of riding Himalayan 450 last year for a distance of 500 kms (Bangalore to Sakleshpura and back), RE has revamped its colour ways and has added a new color option Peix Bronze for Guerrilla, the one which we are reviewing it here. The motorcycle featured a Circular Digital Dashboard as this was a mid-variant Dash. There is also an option for you to choose analog variant at a much lower price (with Black and Silver colors). Without further ado, lets get into the details of Bronze Guerrilla 450.

Design and Looks

We really loved the paint job and the fine finishing of Guerrilla 450, the Peix Bronze matte color looks very good for this bike… The Guerrilla 450 Logo has some indulgence with graphics, trying to break orthodox looks. Its a roadster, and it looks perfectly proportional offering an accessible seat height for the rider. At the front, the motorcycle offers a circular LED headlamp with LED indicators and you could spot the circular digital dash. The Guerrilla gets 17 inch alloy wheels for the front and the rear with wide profile tubeless tyres….

The front telescopic forks wearing the black boot adds some vibrancy to the looks. You could instantly spot large disc brakes on both ends, a raised sub-frame and an almost goldish exhaust setup. Just like Himlayan 450, Guerilla too is equipped with intergraded stop light and turn indicator at the rear. The Royal Enfield logo with white border on the fuel tank looks minimal and neat, the handlebars continue to feature round kill-switch at your right along with Mode switch button at your right. The button quality, functions, positioning are similar to that of Himalayan 450. You could pair your smartphone with Guerrilla 450 by using the Joystick on your left side handlebar and scanning the code from Royal Enfield app, the process is simple to use, the entire maps layout can be projected on the circular display, which is really impressive ( Also available on Himalayan 450 Dash).

Dimensions

Lets talk a little bit about the dimensions of the motorcycle. The Guerrilla 450 is moderately heavy weighing about 191 Kgs (Kerb weight with all equipments). The saddle height of 780mm is very very accessible and it is best suited even for short riders enabling them to try the Sherpa 450 engine. The length of Guerrilla 450 (uptil the number plate) is 2145mm) and the wheelbase is 1440mm. The Ground clearance of 169mm is decent enough to tackle big humps on the road. The fuel tank capacity is just about 11 litres, which makes you visit the petrol pump often…

Engine and Performance

The heart of the animal, the core of the motorcycle is powered by a 452cc liquid cooled 4-valve single cylinder engine (also called Sherpa 450) which produces a maximum power of 40 PS and delivers a peak torque of 40 Nm. Guerrilla 450 gets an electronic fuel injection system with ride by wire system. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the clutch uses slip and assist mechanism. That’s all about the tech specs of Guerrilla Engine. In the real world, Guerrilla makes a statement with a very high note, growling exhaust sound. We really liked the engine when it goes past 3rd gear, it roars making that Grrr sound. However, we felt some tuning is required between 1-2-3 gears, as the engine / gearbox system didn’t give that butter smooth experience or feedback like it did for Himalayan 450.

Ride and Handling

Talking about the handling of Guerrilla 450 – Maneuvering the motorcycle in the city was not a problem, except taking quick U-turns, its because of its large turning radius. Riding the Guerrilla 450 at night was enjoyable, with good amount of light spread from its LED headlamp and also thanks to its integrated stop-lights with indicators, commanding some appreciation from the on-lookers.

Cruising on the highways, open roads are very inviting – the motorcycle offers you more than what you expect especially once you cruise past 80 Kmph. We did not ride Guerrilla much on long routes, and the maximum speed which we could reach on country roads was around 100-120 Kmph… The motorcycle supported well with good amount of torque and power when needed, and offered a stable ride with no vibrations.

We went on top of Baradi Betta (Hill), and the motorcycle did not complaint ever during the ascent or descent. We still feel, the motorcycle needs some tuning when it shifts from 1-2-3 gears, if RE addresses that gap, this is going to be a perfect roadster motorcycle from RE.

For a fully filled fuel tank of Guerrilla 450, you can expect the motorcycle to do about roughly 200 kms in performance mode. If you are using performance and eco mode along with good riding, you can easily get a mileage of 25 Kmpl on a Guerrilla.

Brakes, Suspension, Pillion Comfort

The large disc brakes (310mm at the front and 270mm at the rear) did its job really well, and thanks to dual-channel ABS for that extra safety assurance on those wet and slippery roads. The brakes were responsive and quick and did a good job to stop the unstoppable force of Grr Grr Guerrilla!

Talking about the suspension, the front forks with 43mm travel offered a good comfort and took the potholes and patchy roads well. The mono-shock suspension at the rear too worked offering good comfort. While there are no complaints on seat as a solo rider, the comfort offered for pillion seat is questionable. Although the grab rails were provided at the back for pillion, it was quite painful to sit at the back for a distance above 30 Kms. It is okay for short rides, in the long rides, RE has to make some changes to address the pillion comfort.

Practicality

Type-C USB slot near the handlebar is a welcome feature to charge your smartphone on the go, the Dash does a good job with navigation and routes, pairing with smartphone is not an issue. “Mode change denied” messages were popping very often on the display, so it takes some time for the rider to get used to toggle between Performance mode and Eco mode. The ergonomics of the motorcycle, the upright riding position makes your ride more engaging and enjoyable on a Guerrilla.

Colors on Offer

The all new 2025 Guerrilla 450 motorcycle is available for sale in 5 color options:

  • Peix Brown (Dash variant, The one reviewed here)
  • Gold Dip (Dash Variant)
  • Playa Black (Available with Analog & Dash Variant)

The price of 2025 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Roadster motorcycle starts from Rs 2.39 lakhs (ex-showroom Chennai) for the analog variant,Rs 2.49 lakhs for the dash variant and Rs 2.54 lakhs for the flash variant .

Verdict

Guerrilla 450 is a very good roadster motorcycle from Royal Enfield with a good amount of substance in it, be it tech, be it practicality, be it how the bike performs on the road and how it commands respect from the on-lookers for its unconventional graphics plus looks. Give it a test ride and experience the GRRRRRRRRR for yourself!
