Hero MotoCorp Rolls Out Over-the-Air (OTA) Updates with Excelfore’s eSync Platform

In a major leap toward digital transformation, Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has announced the successful implementation of the eSync platform from Excelfore. This strategic move enables secure and scalable Over-the-Air (OTA) updates and remote data gathering for the company’s next-generation vehicles.

The first fleet of vehicles equipped with this advanced OTA system was launched in Q2 2025 and is currently operational across more than 10 Indian cities.

Hero MotoCorp’s adoption of the eSync platform marks a significant milestone in integrating digital intelligence across its mobility ecosystem. By integrating Excelfore’s eSync data pipeline with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) IoT Core platform, the company is establishing a robust cloud-based architecture.

This integration facilitates:

  • Intelligent Data Collection: Efficiently collecting and synchronizing vehicle data.
  • Standardized Data Flow: Ensuring secure connectivity and automatic synchronization between the cloud and the vehicle.
  • Seamless Updates: Enabling wireless monitoring, diagnostics, and software updates without physical intervention.

According to Ram Kuppuswamy, Chief Operating Officer, Manufacturing, Hero MotoCorp, the adoption of the eSync standard provides agility and transparency, optimizing vehicle reliability without requiring visits to service centers.

It defines a secure, multi-level data pipeline from the cloud to edge devices within the vehicle, ensuring interoperability and security. Excelfore, a founding member of the alliance, provides commercial implementations of these specifications.
