2026 Honda City Facelift and Elevate Facelift: What to Expect?

Honda has announced an ambitious roadmap for the Indian market, aiming for 10 new product launches by 2030. While the brand is heavily focused on expanding its SUV lineup with seven new models, it is also committed to keeping its current portfolio fresh. In line with this strategy, Honda Cars India will introduce mid-life updates for two of its most popular models—the City sedan and the Elevate SUV—in 2026.

Both facelifts are anticipated to arrive in the second half of 2026. Here is a closer look at what to expect from these upcoming updates.

Honda City Facelift 2026 Model and 2026 Honda Elevate Facelift Expected 2026 Design Changes and Updates

New 2026 Honda City Facelift: Staying Fresh Until 2028

The fifth-generation Honda City, originally launched in 2020 and updated in 2023, is set for its second mid-life refresh in 2026. This second facelift will serve as a crucial stopgap to maintain the sedan’s competitiveness before an all-new sixth-generation model arrives around 2028.

Key Changes to Expect:

  • Global Design Inspiration: The 2026 City facelift is expected to borrow styling cues from Honda’s global models, particularly the new Civic.
  • Exterior Updates: Revisions are likely to include a newly designed front grille, reworked front and rear bumpers, and redesigned LED headlamps and taillamps.
  • Subtle Interior Refinements: The cabin layout is expected to remain largely unchanged, though Honda may introduce new trim pieces, updated upholstery, and potentially a 360-degree camera to enhance convenience.
  • Mechanicals: Under the hood, the City will likely retain its reliable 1.5L i-VTEC naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 121hp, paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT. The e:HEV strong hybrid powertrain will also continue to be offered.

New 2026 Honda Elevate Facelift: The First Major Refresh

The Honda Elevate was first launched in 2023 and has quickly become a key volume driver for the brand in India. In 2026, the SUV will receive its first official facelift to help it stay relevant against tough rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Key Changes to Expect:

  • Refreshed Styling: While official details are still under wraps, the update is expected to feature subtle aesthetic changes to the front and rear profiles.
  • Feature Additions: Honda may introduce additional comfort and convenience features while retaining the SUV’s spacious and practical cabin layout. There are also reports indicating that a dedicated Elevate Hybrid variant could debut alongside or shortly after this facelift in 2026.
  • Engine and Transmission: The facelift will continue with the proven 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 121hp and 145Nm of torque. Transmission duties will still be handled by the 6-speed manual and 7-speed CVT automatic gearboxes.
  • Dimensions and Colors: No changes are expected to the vehicle’s dimensions, but Honda might introduce new exterior color options to further appeal to buyers.

Expected Launch and Pricing

Both the Honda City and Elevate facelifts are slated for a market launch in the latter half of 2026.

  • The City facelift is expected to be priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 20 lakh.
  • The Elevate facelift is anticipated to range between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 17 lakh.
