Ather Energy, India’s first intelligent electric scooter manufacturer, today inaugurated its new retail outlet – Ather Space at Vijayanagar, Belgaum, in association with the Bellad Group. This will be Ather Energy’s fifth retail outlet in Karnataka, including two in Bengaluru, one in Mysore and one in Hubli, also operated by Bellad Group. The Ather 450X, one of India’s quickest and smartest scooters, alongside the Ather 450 Plus will be retailed at Ather Space.
The opening of Ather Space in Belgaum is driven by significant consumer demand from the city, as seen by many Belgaum customers purchasing the Ather scooters from nearby outlets of Hubli and Mysore, even before the launch of this experience centre. The new Ather Space will provide a unique ownership experience along with complete service and support for the owners. It will offer customers an opportunity to learn about every aspect of the vehicle. They can also book test ride slots on Ather Energy’s website before visiting the experience centre.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy,
“Karnataka has always been one of our strongest markets and we are keen on rapidly expanding our retail footprint in the state in the coming months. The EV revolution has been substantially aided by a constant growth in consumer interest and exponential demand for electric vehicles, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. To address this rising demand, our entry into Belgaum marks the launch of Ather Energy’s fourth city to have an experience centre in Karnataka after Bangalore, Mysore, and Hubli. We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Bellad group, as we start operations in Belgaum. They’ve done a great job in delivering the Ather experience to customers in Hubli and we are looking at replicating that success in Belgaum.”
Mr. Agastya Bellad, Director, Bellad Group said,
“We are delighted to partner with Ather Energy again to drive EV adoption in Belgaum. Ather Energy has built a sustainable, high quality and well-performing electric vehicle from scratch along with the supporting charging infrastructure. We have been receiving a great response from customers at the Hubli EC and have already clocked 700 deliveries. We also have customers from Gokak, Athani, Savadatti, Sankeshwar. With the opening of this Ather Space, we strive to provide the best experience to our customers.”
Ather Energy is one of the few OEMs that also invests in building charging infrastructures. The company has installed 2 fast-charging points currently at Ather Space, Belgaum and plans to add more charging points to strengthen its charging network to provide smooth and stress-free rides for EV owners in the city in the coming months. Ather Energy has also signed an MoU with the government of Karnataka to set up 1000 charging points across the state and Belgaum will be a priority market. All Ather Grid locations will be strategically placed in key areas of the city to make it easily accessible to EV owners across Belgaum. Ather Energy also helps customers in setting up home charging solutions in their apartments and residences.
The company recently commissioned its second manufacturing facility in Hosur to cater to the growing demand for its electric scooters. The new facility will allow Ather to manufacture 400,000 units per annum, a significant jump from its current capacity of 120,000 units.
The Ather 450X is the best and most awarded electric scooter available in the country today. Ather Energy designs and builds high-performance and truly intelligent electric scooters that are on par, if not better than the 125cc petrol scooters on the market. The cost of ownership for an Ather Energy vehicle is lower than its petrol counterparts over the long term.
The ex-showroom price post the Fame II revision for the Ather 450X is INR 150,604 and INR 131,594 for the Ather 450 Plus. Considering the total cost of ownership of a comparable 125cc scooter, Ather 450X and Ather 450 Plus owners can now breakeven their investment in 18-24 months and will begin to save nearly Rs. 2 per km in the years after.
