BMW India has kicked off its India edition of the world’s largest amateur golf tournament, the BMW Golf Cup 2023, in Chennai. The tournament will be held at prestigious golf courses across multiple cities including Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Noida, Kolkata and Gurgaon. The winners from each region will then compete at the national finals in November 2023.
About BMW Golf Cup
BMW Golf Cup is one of the largest amateur golf tournament series in the world with roots tracing back to a British-based initiative a quarter of a century ago. The tournament started as the BMW Invitation Tournament in the UK and has since developed into a global series, with 1,000 qualifying tournaments involving 100,000 players across up to 50 countries. The best players from each nation qualify for the World Final, which is the highlight of the tournament.

Eligibility and Rewards
The BMW Golf Cup 2023 is an exclusive, invitation-only event open to golfers who are members of recognized golf clubs in the country. The tournaments are held in accordance with the rules of the respective local golf club. It is also a loyalty program that rewards BMW customers with a chance to qualify for the largest amateur golf tournaments in the world. BMW India dealers identify amateur golfers among BMW owners who may be interested in participating in the tournament.
India is one of 50 participating countries in the World Final of the BMW Golf Cup 2023. The tournament series is designed for customers, prospects, and opinion leaders, providing the right mix for an exclusive social interaction.
Categories and Prizes
The BMW Golf Cup has three categories: A (for handicaps up to 12), B (for handicaps 13-28), and Ladies Category (for handicaps up to 28). The winners, runners-up, and second runners-up in each of the handicap categories qualify for the National Final. The winners of each category in the National Final then qualify to take part in the World Final of the BMW Golf Cup.
