BMW Motorrad India has launched two limited edition motorcycles, the BMW R nineT 100 Years and the BMW R 18 100 Years, to commemorate its 100-year history. The motorcycles will be available for booking at BMW Motorrad India dealerships from now onwards.
BMW Motorrad’s Rich History
In 1922, Max Friz, BMW’s chief designer, drew the first full-scale BMW motorcycle on the drawing board, powered by an air-cooled two-cylinder four-stroke boxer engine. In 1923, BMW presented the R 32, its first motorcycle, marking the start of BMW motorcycle production and a legendary success story.
Limited Edition Models: BMW R nineT 100 Years and BMW R 18 100 Years
To celebrate its century-long history, BMW Motorrad is now introducing the R nineT Roadster and the R 18 Cruiser with a big boxer as 100 Years edition models. In honour of the year in which BMW Motorrad was founded, only 1923 units of each model will be produced.

BMW Motorrad Limited Edition Motorcycle Prices
The BMW R nineT 100 Years is priced at INR 24,00,000 ex-showroom, while the BMW R 18 100 Years is priced at INR 25,90,000 ex-showroom. These prices are inclusive of GST and compensation cess, but they exclude Road Tax, RTO statutory taxes/fees, other local tax/cess levies, and insurance. These prices are subject to change without prior notice.
Complete Finance Package and Warranty
For ease of ownership, BMW India Financial Services is offering a complete finance package and the option to fund insurance and accessories. BMW Motorrad bikes come with a standard warranty for three years, unlimited kilometres, and the warranty can be extended to the fourth and fifth year at an attractive cost. Road-Side Assistance, a 24×7 365 days package, is also provided to ensure prompt services in case of breakdown and towing situations.
BMW R nineT 100 Years Features
The R nineT Roadster is a reflection of BMW Motorrad’s 100 years of motorcycle construction and unbroken passion for the boxer engine. The classic roadster design features a compact tank, upright seating position, high-quality materials, and stylish design elements. The heart of the motorcycle is an air/oil-cooled, 80 kW (109 hp) two-cylinder boxer engine. The 100 Years edition has a wide range of options and an elaborate surface concept, including high-grade paint-on-chrome surfaces and exquisite milled parts and wheels. The tank has a combination of black with chrome and white double-lining and a 100 Years badge.
BMW R 18 100 Years Features
The BMW R 18 Cruiser with a big boxer engine features the largest displacement ever installed by BMW Motorrad. The 100 Years edition is styled with a special paintwork and surface concept, Classic Chrome, and a 67 kW (91 hp) boxer engine. The motorcycle also has a host of features, including adaptive turning light, a comfort package with heated grips, cruise control and driving modes pro, and the Option 719 Classic wheels option with black anodised rim rings.
