Sustaining its growth momentum well into the festive season, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) today announced its sales numbers for the month of August 2022.
Anchored by positive customer response and festive excitement at dealerships, the company’s total dispatches registered 7% growth with 462,523 units in August’22 (423,216 domestic and 39,307 exports) compared to 431,594 units in August’21 (401,480 domestic and 30,114 exports).
Commenting on the upward market movement, Mr. Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said,
“Market performance is gaining steady momentum against previous month as well as year-on-year basis. Welcoming the festive season with an exciting range of products across verticals, we are confident that the celebrations will be amplified further with attractive finance schemes available across our various touchpoints.”
Key Highlights of August 2022:
Ø Product Launch: Delighting customers with new offerings, HMSI launched 4 new products across both BigWing & Red Wing categories viz. all-new powerful & sporty CB300F along with new editions of Activa Premium edition, Dio Sports and Shine celebration edition.
Ø Honda BigWing Network Expansion: Honda expanded its BigWing dealership network with inauguration of its two new Honda BigWing outlets in Mira Bhayandar (Maharashtra) and Azamgarh (Uttar Pradesh).
Ø Road Safety: HMSI organized awareness camps in Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Ajmer (Rajasthan), Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), Bhawanipatna (Odisha), Siliguri (West Bengal) and Chandigarh. The company also celebrated the 3rd anniversary of its Safety Driving Education Centre (SDEC) in Ranchi (Jharkhand).
Ø Corporate Social Responsibility: Continuing its endeavours to community development, Honda India Foundation in association with Government of Haryana inaugurated its 1st Institute of Driving Training and Research (IDTR) in Karnal (Haryana). Further, the company also inaugurated a Skill Enhancement Centre in collaboration with Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh).
Ø Motorsports: Honda Racing India’s Rajiv Sethu recorded the best finish by an Indian rider in AP250 class of Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) at 5th spot in Round 3. On domestic front, Honda SK69 Racing team’s Rajiv Sethu claimed 1st place in the PS165cc category of 2022 Indian National Racing Championship round 3. Bringing more cheer for the loyal fans of the company, Honda Racing Corporation announced the signing of 2020 MotoGP World Champion Joan Mir on a two-year contract alongside Marc Marquez.
