A Helping Hand on the Road: Honda India Foundation Provides Customized Honda CB350 Quick Response Team Vehicles to Gujarat Police

In a significant step towards a safer, more responsive community, the Honda India Foundation (HIF), the CSR arm for all Honda group companies in India, has officially handed over 50 customized Quick Response Team (QRT) vehicles to the Gujarat Police. This initiative is part of HIF’s broader ‘Sadak Sahayak: Surakshit Marg, Surakshit Jiwan’ (Road Assistant: Safe Road, Safe Life) project, a program focused on improving road safety and public welfare.

The ceremony, held in Gandhinagar on September 3, 2025, marked a crucial public-private partnership aimed at enhancing the efficiency of on-ground law enforcement and emergency response. It also aligns with Honda’s global vision of achieving a collision-free society by 2050. The event was attended by prominent figures, including Gujarat’s Honorable Minister of State-Home, Industries, Culture Activities, Transport, Sports & Youth Services, Sh. Harsh Sanghavi. Also present were Mr. M.K. Das, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Gujarat, and Mr. Vikas Sahay, IPS, Director General of Police & Head of Police Force, Gujarat. Honda India Foundation was represented by Mr. Vinay Dhingra, Trustee, and Mr. Rajeev Taneja, Operating Officer.

The new QRT vehicles are based on the Honda CB350, specifically modified to assist police teams in high-density and sensitive areas. Each motorcycle is equipped with features designed for immediate and effective action:

  • Revolving flashers and blinkers: To increase visibility and help clear a path through traffic.
  • A public announcement system and siren: To communicate with the public and alert other road users.
  • A flashlight: For visibility in low-light conditions.
  • Side and rear storage boxes: To carry essential equipment.
  • Two Honda safety helmets: To ensure the safety of police personnel.

These enhancements are intended to provide police officers with better tools to carry out their duties efficiently and safely. The vehicles’ design prioritizes mobility and agility, allowing officers to reach critical locations faster, which can help save lives, reduce injuries, and improve law enforcement’s on-ground effectiveness.

A Shared Vision for Safer Roads

This initiative is a reflection of a shared commitment between the Honda India Foundation and the Gujarat Police to create a better-managed traffic ecosystem and safer roads. The collaboration is part of a larger national effort by HIF to hand over a total of 250 QRT vehicles across several states, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh, by the end of the year. This nationwide rollout highlights the foundation’s dedication to community welfare and public-private partnerships.

The ‘Sadak Sahayak’ project is a testament to the fact that public safety and community well-being require a collaborative effort from all sectors. By providing these purpose-built vehicles, the Honda India Foundation is not only equipping the police force with advanced tools but also contributing to the realization of a more sustainable and secure society for everyone.
