Honda Cars India, one of the popular car manufacturers in India is reportedly launching BS6 compliant Honda City coming December 2019. A report from Financial Express confirms the news that Honda City BS6 has been planned for launch next month.

Honda City Petrol BS6

Initially only the petrol variant of Honda City will be BS6 compliant. The price of Honda City Petrol BS6 is expected to get at a starting price of Rs 10.2 lakhs as per the known reports.

The power figures of BS6 compliant Honda City is expected to change. Reportedly, the 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engine will produce 118 bhp of power and a maximum torque of 145 Nm.

Honda City Diesel BS6

The BS6 compliant Diesel variant of Honda City will be launched on/before 1 April 2020 – which is the deadline issued by Honourable Supreme Court of India to phase out BS4 cars.

Currently only few manufactures in the market like Kia Motors and Jeep are selling the BS6 compliant Diesel cars way before the deadline.

While the price of petrol powered BS6 cars is expected to increase by Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 the diesel BS6 cars’ price will be an additional burden (of Rs 80,000 and above) to consumers.

The upgraded and fully compliant Honda City BS6 cars will hit the Honda dealerships across the cities starting December 2019.
