Every year, British manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover organises a cross-India tour called the Art of Performance Tour, It is a dynamic experience that provide an opportunity to witness what it’s like to get behind the wheel of a Jaguar under the guidance of expert drive instructors.
This Early New year 2019 , Jaguar started its Art of performance Tour from Bengaluru . Along with the most exciting F-type ,the entire line-up of Jaguar cars were made available for an exciting drive experience at a closed circuit in Taneja Aerospace and aviation limited (TAAL) ‘s private airfield in Hosur near Bangalore. The Performance tour involved two obstacle course demonstrations – a slalom route and an emergency braking manoeuvre, and a third, straight-line drag in the exclusive Jaguar F-Type. While we attended the event, everyone who sat behind the wheel of the F-type was amazed at its performance at take-off. The course obviously won’t allow people to fully exploit the F-type’s potential, but it gives a glimpse of what to expect, and for many people, it’s the first time they got to drive this beast .
The obstacle course, involved other Jaguar’s cars – the entry segment XE, the midsize Jaguar XF, the full-length Jaguar XJ among sedans, and the Jaguar F-Pace, it was an interesting perspective into how each of them would perform when pushed hard – on a track . The slalom course helps realise the torque of the engines and the active torque vectoring, which gives a glimpse at how the cars can handle along hilly roads with plenty of curves .
While the XE was our personal favourite in the obstacle course mainly due to its handling, and superior power-to-weight ratio which makes it feel more agile and nimble ,the XF on the other hand was slower off the line and approaches corners with a slightly heavier foot but it still is a exciting package for those who want a little more space inside.
When it comes to the Jaguar XJ , the rear seat is the one where we would ideally want to be in . It falls in the same category of luxury as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the BMW 7 Series, which makes it more tuned for the highways.
Naturally, handling and agility is not the most agile, even though there’s ample power on tap. The last one in this lineup is the Jaguar F-Pace which gets the same powertrain as the Jaguar XE and XF, the overall ride quality is phenomenally sublime. If you love SUVs, the Jaguar F-Pace is an enticing package to drive, although we still liked the XE more than the rest.
Participants will also get to ride shotgun in a Land Rover Discovery sport , while a driving instructor shows off the SUVs’ off-road capabilities over a couple of obstacles. This portion is part of Land Rover’s Above and Beyond Tour . The Jaguar Art of Performance Tour as well as the Land Rover Above and Beyond Tour was a exhilarating experience which will be heading across the length and breadth of India.
