Classic Legends, pioneer of neo-classic motorcycles in India, hosted a ground-breaking track experience event at the National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX), India’s state-of-the-art automotive testing facility. Media representatives and motorcycle experts were invited to push the performance limits of the BSA Gold Star 650, Jawa 42 FJ, and Yezdi Adventure on a purpose-built test track, challenging traditional perceptions of classic and neo-classic motorcycles.

BSA Gold Star 650: Racing Heritage Reborn
The BSA Gold Star 650 proved its racing heritage remains intact, with riders achieving ton-up speeds (over 160 km/h) on the NATRAX straightaways—a testament to the marque’s competition history dating back to 1937, when BSA dominated British racing circuits and the Isle of Man TT.
The motorcycle’s 652cc single-cylinder engine—the largest in its segment—demonstrated exceptional torque delivery at low RPMs, showcasing why the “most eligible single” delivers a truly unique and unmatched riding experience. The participants particularly praised the Gold Star’s stable cornering and predictable handling at high speeds, complemented by precise braking from its Brembo system.
Jawa 42 FJ: Neo-Classic with Contemporary Performance
The Jawa 42 FJ shattered preconceptions of neo-classic motorcycles on the track, with journalists highlighting its agile handling and impressive acceleration. Powered by the new Alpha2 engine delivering 29.2 PS and 29.6 Nm of torque, the 42 FJ demonstrated performance capabilities of a true-blue performance-classic while sporting a bold neo-classic design.
The 42 FJ’s longer wheelbase and class-leading ground clearance proved advantageous on track, while its dual-channel ABS and larger disc brakes performed admirably under repeated hard braking. Media riders were particularly impressed by the motorcycle’s composed handling during cornering, demonstrating that Jawa’s neo-classic design philosophy of “big, bold, gorgeous” extends beyond aesthetics to genuine performance engineering.
Yezdi Adventure: Versatility Unleashed
The Yezdi Adventure showcased its remarkable versatility on the track, proving that adventure motorcycles can excel beyond off-road terrain. Journalists were impressed by the motorcycle’s stability at high speeds despite its adventure-oriented design, with the longer-travel suspension adapting well to the smooth tarmac. This level of performance is also essential for riders looking for effortless long-distance ‘adventure touring’.
Powered by the robust Alpha2 334cc liquid-cooled engine producing 29.6 PS and 29.9 Nm, the Yezdi Adventure demonstrated excellent acceleration and mid-range performance. Its best-in-class ground clearance and superior handling characteristics made it a surprisingly capable track companion, showcasing the perfect balance of power, performance, and accessibility.
