JSW MG Motor India has announced the launch of Season 6.0 of the MG Developer Program & Grant (MGDP) in collaboration with DPIIT. This initiative reaffirms the company’s commitment to accelerating innovation and strengthening the start-up ecosystem in India.
Theme and Innovation Categories
The central theme for Season 6.0 is ‘Innovation in Automobile‘. Building on past successes, this edition focuses on future-ready innovations under the theme ‘Innovation in Automotive’. Start-ups are encouraged to submit their ideas across various specific categories. These categories include Innovation in Logistics and Supply Chain, AI in Automotive, V2X Intelligence, Sustainability & Circular Economy, Innovation in Vehicle Technology, Connected Services, Innovation in EV Charging Infrastructure, and Innovation in Manufacturing.
Key Dates and Evaluation Process
Applications for this season are open as of today, and the submission window closes on April 30, 2026. A jury panel consisting of senior leaders, industry body experts, and academic institution representatives will evaluate the entries based on real-world applicability and uniqueness. Shortlisted teams will receive mentorship ahead of Demo Day, which is scheduled for June 1, 2026.
Participant Benefits and Program History
Participants selected for the program will receive mentoring from JSW MG Motor India and its ecosystem partners. They will also gain access to development support, testing opportunities, and potential grant assistance based on the jury’s discretion. Since its launch in 2019, the MG Developer Program & Grant has received over 1550 entries across its first five seasons. To date, MG has shortlisted a total of 51 start-ups that are currently working on various pilot projects.
