Land Rover Discovery Sport India Features revealed

September 2, 2015 is the the date when Land Rover Discovery Sport would be launched. Already there are over 200 bookings done for Discovery Sport even before its official launch. The introduction of new Discover Sport would replace the outgoing Freelander 2, and would be offered in 4 trim levels namely:

• Discovery Sport S
• Discovery Sport SE
• Discovery Sport HSE
• Discovery Sport HSE LUXURY

The all new LandRover Discovery Sport would be powered by 2179cc diesel engine  which again comes in 2 different versions:

Discovery Sport TD4 version that provides a maximum power of 148bhp and delivers a peak torque of 40.78 kgm on the Discovery Sport S, SE and HSE variants; The more powerful 188bhp SD4 version would be made available only on the top-spec trim of the car.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport S would come with the following equipment:

• 17-inch alloy wheels with full size spare
• Cloth s​eats
• 6-speaker audio system
• 6 airbags
• Electrically adjustable and heated wing mirrors

The next trim, the Discovery Sport SE, in addition to the S comes with the following:

• Fixed panoramic roof
• Electrically adjustable and folding heated wing mirrors
• Automatic Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lamps
• Rain sensing wipers
• 17-inch 10 spoke alloy wheels with full sized spare
• Part-leather seats with second row 60:40 split, slide and recline feature
• Cruise control
• Front and rear parking sensors
• Interior mood lighting
• 10-speaker audio system
• 7-seater option (available with smaller spare wheel)

The Discovery Sport HSE, in addition to the SE gains the following equipment:

• Grained leather seats and steering wheel
• Dual zone climate control
• 10- ​speaker premium audio system

The top specifications of LandRover Discovery Sport HSE shall come with following feature set:

• Adaptive MagneRide suspension Contrast roof shade
• Adaptive Xenon headlamps
• Premium Windsor Leather seats and carpets
• 17-speaker Premium Meridian Surround sound audio
• Rear-seat entertainment package

The 9-speed automatic gearbox is offered on all standard Discovery Sport trims.  Other than the above mentioned features, all trims of Discovery Sport would come with Hill Descent Control (HDC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Roll Stability Control (RSC). When launched Discovery Sport would take on its rivals like BMW X3, Volvo XC60 and Audi Q5.
