The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki will increase the Waiting periods of their cars as the company will shut down its all three plants in Gurugram, Manesar and Gujarat for a week starting Monday as a part of annual maintenance programme that is done twice a year .
This week-long shutdown will halt the production of all the 16 models produced by the company in India which includes the Swift, Dzire, Baleno, WagonR, Alto and Vitara Brezza. Waiting periods for different vehicles will be affected depending on variants and colours that buyers have opted for. Sources suggest that the waiting period is expected to roughly rise by more than a week.
Currently, the company manufactures 1.75 million vehicles across three plants in Gurugram, Manesar and Suzuki owned Hansalpur, Gujarat respectively. The combined capacity of Gurugram and Manesar plant is 1.5 million units. While the Suzuki owned Hansalpur plant produces 250,000 units.
