Maruti WagonR AMT version Spotted
We all know that the AMT versions of both Maruti Celerio and Maruti Alto are well received among auto enthusiasts who are looking for ease-of-drive in Indian traffic conditions. The AMT gearbox for Wagon R and Stingray hatchbacks adds more options to Indian car buyers. Maruti Suzuki now has an expertise in making the AMT(Automatic Manual Transmission) powered cars – so the arrival of new automatic versions of their existing cars comes as no surprise.
GaadiWaadi, an Indian automotive poral reports that the Maruti Wagon R and Stingray models fitted with automatic gearboxes are coming sooner than anticipated. Images provided by Gaadiwaadi showcases both the models with ‘AMT’ badge on their bootlids.
The launch of AMT version of Wagon R is expected to happen in the middle of November. The all new Wagon R AMT powered cars has already reached dealerships, perfectly timed to grab the Diwali rush.
Along with Wagon R, the Maruti Stingray AMT shall also hit the ground. Under the hood, the Wagon R AMT will continue to be powered by a 998cc K10B petrol engine that churns out a maximum power of 68PS. The engine of Wagon R is mated to a Magneti Marelli sourced 5-speed automatic manual transmission.
Price of Maruti Wagon R and Stringray
The prices for the Maruti Wagon R AMT and Stingray AMT are expected to increase in the range of Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000 over the standard models and is going to be offered in VXi variants to start with.
