Royal Enfield posted sales of 35,814 motorcycles in the month of March 2020, against the sales of 60,831 motorcycles for the same month last year.
Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Vinod Dasari, CEO at Royal Enfield said,
“It has been a challenging year for the industry, from subdued market sentiment in the initial quarters, to the current global pandemic situation. Royal Enfield however continues to remain invested in bringing greater innovation in products and processes. We’ve seen very encouraging response our new motorcycle variants that we launched, our personalization and customization initiative – Make Your Own – has seen tremendous positive reaction from consumers, new Ride concepts like the Astral and Rongbuk ride have seen more enthusiastic riders participate, and overall there has been a robust growth in our digital community.
We have recently completed sales of our entire BS-IV motorcycle stock ahead of the regulatory deadline, and that is testament to our focused approach, and strategic planning. While the industry currently continues to face headwinds, we are confident that in the long-term, there will be slow and steady recovery. Astute planning and agility will be the key to sustained recovery. Business Update
Royal Enfield announced complete sales of all BS IV motorcycles
Royal Enfield has successfully sold all existing inventory of BS IV motorcycles across dealerships, thereby becoming fully compliant with the new BS VI emission norm regulation adequately ahead of the mandated timeline. Royal Enfield has worked relentlessly with its dealership network to ensure a seamless transition to the new BS VI motorcycles. Starting March 21, 2020, all Royal Enfield stores across India have started retailing only BS VI motorcycles, thereby becoming one of the first automotive brands in India to fully transition to the new emission norm, ahead of time.

Royal Enfield Slide School
First edition of Royal Enfield Slide School was kicked off at the Big Rock Dirt Park, Bengaluru on 05th March 2020. This event provided an opportunity for novices to learn how to slide a motorcycle on a flat-track. Flat-tracking means a group of riders racing on an oval dirt track on purpose-built motorcycles to clock the shortest time while sliding around the corners and sliding is an integral part of the same. As a part of the Royal Enfield Slide School, the participants were also trained by a team of coaches headed by the famed flat track racer Johnny Lewis. More editions of Royal Enfield Slide School will be launched in more cities in the near future.
