Toyota Kirloskar Motor sells over 68,000 units in the domestic market in Jan-June 2019. Despite the steep drop in sales in the industry, the company is putting their best efforts to maintain lean inventory and support the dealer partners.
Commenting on the sales performance, Mr. N. Raja, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said,
The Industry has been witnessing a continuous decline in domestic sales owing to several factors that have contributed to the weak consumer sentiment. The prevailing economic uncertainty, uncertainty on monsoons, high interest costs, tight liquidity and also the underlying apprehensions surrounding BS VI introduction in few months have steered the slowdown.
“We at Toyota always strive to support our dealers through any business challenges, we have consciously lower the volume of vehicles sold to dealers ensuring minimum burden on our dealers partners amidst low buying sentiments. Our operations follow a “pull system” i.e. Customer drives sales & sales in turn drives production. TKM Demand & Supply operations aims at Delivering Right Car to the Right Customer at the Right Time/Place consistently with lean inventory & highest quality.
We look forward to the upcoming budget to address the need for positive growth in the economy which would result in better sentiment in the Auto Industry. We look forward to measures that would boost the manufacturing industry so that there is improvement in customer demand.”
