TVS Akula 310 launch by end of 2016
A new report suggests that TVS Akula will be launched by the end of 2016. The Akula 310 concept from TVS Motor Company was first unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in the month of February this year (2016). In the other news, TVS and BMW have entered into an alliance where BMW’s G310R motorcycle is going to be made in Bangalore. TVS Akula motorcycle too would be manufactured in the same plant as that of BMW G310R. Much known for its small sized commuter bikes, TVS Motor Company is now looking at capturing the market of bigger performance bikes and the Akula 310 is going to be its very first 300cc motorcycle.

The design of TVS Akula 310 is done keeping the motorcycle racing in mind. Akula 310’S design has inputs from the company’s race riders coming from TVS as well as BMW Motorrad association. The Akula 310 can be regarded as tribute to TVS Racing’s 33 years of race heritage.

What powers the TVS Akula 310? TVS Akula 310 derives its power from 310cc, single-cylinder engine which is actually found in TVS BMW G310R. TVS Akula’s engine is designed to offer a maximum power of 34bhp at 9500rpm as against to peak torque of 28Nm at 7500rpm. TVS Motor Company claims that the Akula is going to be a high revving bike, typical of a track machine.

As reported earlier, TVS Akula will be getting launched by the end of 2016. Akula 310 will be out in the market only after BMW G310R’s launch in September. The motorcycle will be manufactured at its Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu.
