Bengaluru-based electric vehicle innovator Ultraviolette Automotive has announced a strategic five-year investment plan to significantly expand its manufacturing presence in Karnataka. On March 27, 2026, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Karnataka, securing support that includes a Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) and fast-track facilitation.
The agreement, which was formalized during the ‘Invest Karnataka’ Conclave in Bengaluru, was signed in the presence of Shri M. B. Patil, the Honourable Minister for Large & Medium Industries, Karnataka. This partnership underscores the state’s proactive policy framework designed to attract high-value, clean mobility investments.

Phased Investment and Production Growth
Ultraviolette’s proposed five-year expansion is structured into two main phases designed to enhance local manufacturing capabilities and create new employment opportunities:
- Phase 1: This phase focuses on expanding existing capacity and manufacturing at the company’s current facility, supported by a proposed investment of INR 200 Crores.
- Phase 2: The second phase involves establishing a brand-new production plant in Karnataka, which will have an annual production capacity of 150,000 units.
The leadership at Ultraviolette highlighted that this expansion reflects their confidence in Karnataka’s forward-looking electric vehicle ecosystem, infrastructure readiness, and deep engineering talent pool.
