Volkswagen Express Service facility opened in Coimbatore
Last week, Volkswagen India announced INR 720 crore as an investment for its upcoming compact sedan, followed by the importing the Polo and Golf 1.0-litre TSI models. The German automaker, Volkswagen has also announced its first-ever “Express Service” facility in India – the dealership is located in Coimbatore.
Volkswagen also stated that the dealership which is located in Coimbatore gets a state-of-the-art equipment workshop with 44 work bays and 75 parking bays that helps in servicing over 2500 cars per month. The express service is an initiative that is targeted towards achieving a faster turnaround time for car servicing. The all new Express Service facility is designed to improve the productivity as well as the efficiency of technicians.
The Express Service facility is globally available across different countries – it was initiated back in the year 2011 and the company is setting up such centres globally that offer periodic and basic checks and changes including tyre rotation, filter replacement, battery checkup, oil and filter change etc. The car manufacturer also stated that it aims to provide a hassle-free service experience at dealerships by ensuring quality service in a limited amount of time.
This is not first time that OEMs like Volkswagen is involved in providing express service facility, Toyota in India already offers the 60-minute express service for all of its vehicles which covers basics while Ford has Quick Lane outlets.
In the United States, the Volkswagen Express Service would take around 90 minutes in order to complete the entire servicing. The car manufacturer clarified that in next 12 months, the Express service facility would be rolled out in key dealerships in a a phased manner starting from Coimbatore and followed by Delhi and Chennai.
