India’s leading two wheeler manufacturer, Yamaha Motor India Group (YMIG) announced on Friday that it has donated Rs. 30 lakhs to support the government in rebuilding the state as well as its employees and dealer staff to reconstruct their houses and belongings which got damaged due to the excessive rain and flood in August.
As a part of the relief measure and to help the people of Kerala, Yamaha employees came forward and voluntarily donated their half day salary. In addition to this, the employees also donated their old clothes, blanket and food packets towards the Kerala flood relief initiative.
On Friday, the senior management members from YMIG, Takahiro Henmi, Executive Vice President, Mr. Ratheesh Nair, Assistant Vice President, Sales & Marketing and Mr. P Ganeshan, General Manager, Human Resources met the Kerala Chief Minister, Mr. P Vijayan and handed over a cheque of Rs. 9 lakhs towards the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. The remaining amount of Rs. 21 lakhs has been donated to the Yamaha employees and dealer staff in Kerala who suffered huge losses due to floods.
The state has witnessed calamity of severe nature. As a responsible entity, we all have to work collectively in rebuilding the state. I appreciate and am proud of our employees who voluntarily donated their half day salary for the relief work in the state. We will continue to provide assistance to the state in the best way we can

In August, Yamaha had also sent a rescue team to visit the affected employees & its dealer staff and provided the flood relief materials in several districts of Kerala which included Ernakulum, Palakkad, Idukki, Kollam, Malappuram, Trissur, Alappuzha, Allepey and Chengannur.
The company also organized a Vehicle Refresh Camp from August 30, 2018 to September 30, 2018 in the state to support the customers of Kerala to restore normalcy and rehabilitating Yamaha two wheelers to normal performance through servicing & maintenance. Yamaha vehicles which are either taken for rides in the middle of waterlogging or have submerged in the flood hit and rainfall affected areas were serviced and repaired across all Yamaha authorized network in Kerala with 100% free labor including labor charges for engine repair.
