Yamaha India today launched the much awaited Yamaha MT15 motorcycle in India. The MT15 is a 150cc motorcycle and Yamaha is launching the new MT series for the first time in India in this category. Yamaha MT15 is a brand new performance motorcycle which borrows engine from Yamaha R15 V3. The MT15 motorcycle from Yamaha gets Alien like faced headlamp, ABS (Anti-lock Braking system) and shall potentially compete against the likes of Bajaj Pulsar, Apache and Dukes in India.

The all new Yamaha MT15 that is powered with an engine that offers 58.0 × 58.7 mm bore × stroke and a 11.6:1 compression ratio producing a maximum output of 14.2 kW (19.3 PS) at 10,000 rpm and maximum torque of 14.7 N·m (1.5 kgf·m) at 8,500 rpm. The new MT-15 strikes the ideal balance of agile acceleration, agile handling and advanced design and is targeted for young generation who are transitioning from lower end two wheelers and are simultaneously looking for snappy rides with maximum feel of torque and acceleration.
